Haunted Eternal - Hunger
Candles flickered against the stone walls with shimmering flecks of light making the place feel warm like something planned far in advance. The truth is I never had a clue that old man would be lying in my path nor did I even suspect my own reaction to him. I watched him devour his food like a starving beast with no mind of my presence. He is not concerned about me or how this meal became, simply grateful to eat. His hunger had moved me to the point that I was undecided what to do next.
That kind of hunger is within us all. I guess it is what drives us to do the craziest things, or let the most outrageous things carry on. I have given largely to those who were never really in need, their reaction, and what remained was little to nothing. I would wager this man will never forget this night should he live for eternity. And something inside of me has taken a pity on him I suppose, or maybe something else to. His striking looks are handsome and his eyes sparkle. His lips so very kissable and my wanting to touch them may have been what anchored the thought in me to go to him.
